We Started Spring Cleaning Early… and Found a Blast from the Past!

If you’ve been following us on Facebook, you probably noticed that we recently invested in both a Cisco ASA 5505 and also an entry-level Cisco UCS C-Series rack-mount server.  Needless to say, I’m beginning to run out of real estate for all of our toys lab and demo gear so I got an early start on Spring Cleaning to free up some space and I stumbled upon this gem – a Global Village 56K PCMCIA card.  While it may have been “The Best Way to Communicate with your Notebook Computer” a decade (or two) I’m pretty sure it belongs in a museum now.

What’s the oldest piece of technology you’ve ever found hiding in the back of a closet?  Let us know in the comments!

56K PCMCIA Card

56,000 bits per second. Roughly 450x slower than a cable modem from Time Warner Cable.
