2013 – The Year Ahead

I founded Denton Business Solutions (“DBS”) back in 2009 to help small businesses to grow and flourish despite the economic downturn.  I chose to build a business on providing web-based technology solutions to other small businesses because the low cost of entry made technologies like SEO and online advertising accessible to businesses of all sizes.  While we didn’t advertise it much, we also offered consulting services for Cisco networking technologies, mainly because I’d spent several years in that field before starting DBS.

Fast forward almost four years and it’s 2013.  The NASDAQ has completely recovered past its pre-recession levels and the Dow Jones is almost there as well.  I’m seeing more and more businesses shifting from survival mode back into growth mode, and our business is changing as a result.  In fact, when I looked at where most of DBS’ business came from in 2012, it was clear to me that Denton Business Solutions is no longer a web marketing company that does some IT consulting on the side, but rather an IT consulting firm that does some web marketing on the side.

As the saying goes, “if it looks like a duck, swims like a duck, and quacks like a duck, then it probably is a duck.”  From now on, Denton Business Solutions will proceed in its business as an IT consulting firm.  You’ll notice over time that our website content will be changing, we’ll be sharing different kinds of content on our social media outlets, and our branding will be slightly changing to reflect our new focus on IT infrastructure.

Additionally, we’ll be forging and deepening relationships with leading IT vendors such as Cisco, HP, VMWare, and Microsoft to continue to bring our clients best-in-class technology solutions that support the growth and prosperity of their businesses.  We’re even considering bringing on a part-time account manager in the next couple months to help us to better maintain and grow our client relationships.

Growth plans aside, we have no plans to sever ties with any of our current clients.  We’ve enjoyed helping your businesses to grow over the past several years and we hope that you continue to trust us in helping you to do so as time goes on.  We’re still the same group of people who love nothing more than seeing other small businesses succeed.  I know this change may come as a shock, so please feel free to contact me directly if you have any questions or concerns.  Thank you for taking the time to read this and we look forward to growing with you in 2013.
